stretching and yield loss

Okay, just a question in reguards to stretching....

Can or will it affect the yield of a plant??

My plants were stretched in the vegative stage and I am very close to harvest but, it hasnt come out to what I would like to see...

I started the 12 hour light period on feb. 10th, making that about 50? days into flowering... glands are standing straight up like mushrooms so Im guessing the time is near....

will I see anymore growth in the buds or no?? or am I just waiting for the "amber" coloring???

Strecthing will hurt yeild because taller plants get less light penetration. You buds will swell the most in the last two weeks of flowering. Just hold up and wait you those amber trichomes.

If I am at day 50, how much longer would you say Im looking at??

and do you think being at day 50, will I gain any in bud size??
personally I dont think I will but, it would be nice..... obviously

what was it again you are growing?

i feel -
a little strecthing at veg goes both ways. lower branches won't get as much light because the plant is taller due to strecthing. on the other hand, i've strecthed plants a little to "open them up" to allow for more light penetration at the upper levels.

let me know your strain and i'll give you a #.

Of course stretching will have an affect on the yield, as the plant elongates and gets taller less and less light will penetrate down into the lower foliage - this is why it's important to veg under predominantly blue light to help keep stretching to a minimum in vegetative growth and to allow tighter internode spacing - but it does depend on variety.

50 days is just at the end of the 7th week of flowering, depending on strain you're looking at between 8-9 weeks for most basic indicas and 10-14 for Sativa dominants and indica/satica hybrids somewhere inbetween, so I'd say you've got at least another couple of weeks to go, and yes, the buds will pack on more weight and trichomes in the next couple of weeks.

Keep watching the pistils, at about 70+% pistil browning you should be at around peak potency, but watch the trichome head colouring for a more accurate indication, depending on the stone you want - most people find 50/50 clear cloudy about right whilst some prefer the heavier stone of light amber coloured ones - it's personal choice.

G-13:

heavy resin producer. quick finisher. 49 - 56 days (hold on !). estimated yield = 140 grams in a 3 x 3 room with 400w of HPS, hydro.

maximum resin production BEGINS at day 49 with NOTICABLE increase at 56 days.

let it go at LEAST 1 more week.

They are at like 49" thanks for that good info FDD2BLK, thats what I was really looking for, ::I love this guy::

p.s. day 49 of flowering, Im glad youve got good node spacing though....... I learned from my mistake so I am still happy!!!! about a week maybe 2 left
