Most people like to harvest when 50-80% of the hairs are red. If you look at the plant under a magnifying glass you can see the trichomes. these are the little crystals that cover the plant and make it look frosty. the trichomes are full of thc and other cannabinoids. The best time to harvest is when these little trichomes are standing erect, with a full, mushroom shaped head looking like it's ready to burst. Harvest them when they all stand erect, and have begun to turn cloudy. As the thc begins to change to cbd, the trichomes begin to turn amber. Harvest clear and cloudy trichomes for peak thc content, or wait for amber trichs for a stonier high. or so they say.
