Submitted my designated grower application, now what?

Hi all,

I’ve submitted my designated grower application and I was told 8-12 weeks for a response. I’m curious what happens next? Does health Canada inspect my grow room? Do they require additional info? What should I expect?

Thank you all for the replies. It’s for my brother who is disabled and who also has a medical marijuana purchase licence. Can they not approve some designated applications?

I’ve converted a large section of my garage into a properly sealed grow room.

I know that I should be starting, but won’t I run into penalties before getting health Canada approval? Why shouldn’t I be worried before starting his grow? The responses surprised me to be honest. The laws in Ontario say, “could face 14 years in jail over 6 plants.”

Even if they did. Your Bro is disabled and they would be taking from him and that will not go wel in court seeing as this system was SET UP FR MEDICAL to begin with.

AFAIK...no one has ever been successfully convicted when waiting for Hellth Canaduh to get documents out. As long as you have proof that you sent the paperwork in (and have no drug convictions in the last 10 years), you cannot be denied being a DG. Fire it up and get started!

If I can ask, do you have a DG license? How long after you submitted your paperwork did it come in? The wait is killing me.

When I was DGing it took 2 months the first time, and 3 weeks on renewal.

I’m a DG under the old MMAR regime (now a section 56 exception I believe), so I haven’t had to renew in years. Only took about a month or so back in those days.
