Hello all!

My name is Adam and in the early Winter of '04 I was in a head-on car collision with a drunk driver. This caused some spinal injuries that have caused pain beyond what the limited physical therapy could alleviate. Luckily my Lawyer had all of the fees taken care of. 4 years later, I was mugged and pistol whipped 9 times in the back of the head, subsequently causing chronic headaches and vertigo. I was prescribed a low level dosage of Vicodin for the initial pain and DID NOT like it, nor did it work well enough. This was NOT taken care of because the other person that was mugged with me did not appear in court, so the case was thrown out. In light of this, the hospital's Financial Aid Department would not cover the costs. Now I am ind debt to the tune of $4k

I am what one could refer to as, "Under the Poverty Line" so I don't have Insurance to treat my conditions, nor do I want to treat them with chemical prescriptions. I would like to know how likely it is for me to attain my Patient Card, given my medical history?

I've been growing my own meds of some pretty potent strains for the last couple of years but due to school zoning and recently illuminated moral obligations, I've quit. And the cost for quality is ridiculous to try to maintain on my income.

If I am able to make the move successfully, I would like to look into getting my Caregiver's License and also possibly supplying reputable dispensaries with reliable, quality meds.

I guess I'm still apprehensive to the possibility of this being a legal reality for me. The little bit of information that I have attained through my connect just isn't convincing enough and I haven't talked to any patients or Physicians for advice about my specifics. If anybody could provide some well appreciated information on all of this it would be....well.....appreciated!

You could definitely get your card, sounds like you've been through some shit. As for becoming a care giver, you can easily obtain your license but I don't know about selling to dispensaries. I have never done so but if you get a few patients i'm sure you can make that 4k, it just might take a little bit of time until your harvests. Good Luck

move up here bring chart notes from a few office visits regarding one of you conditions, get a residence, and go to secretary of state for your ID/drivers license. make an appointment somewhere to get your referral. it isnt hard to locate clinics set up to evaluate you for your referral. you can check the law here:

for your qualifying condition. if you have serious chronic pain etc, you will get your card no problem. basically if you have your living arrangements and grow equipment good to go you will be all set... the referral should cost somewhere between $100-150, dont pay more than that. then you have to pay the state $100 for your application fee unless you qualify for the low income fee of $25, but there are restrictions and you would have to check if you qualify. send all that off, and 21 days after they cash your check your paperwork and a copy of your canceled check will work as your card, though some police are trying to test the waters with that. as for selling to dispensaries that is what some would consider a gray area, and others would consider blatant legality due to the wording of the law. some would say this section:

(e) "Medical use" means the acquisition, possession, cultivation, manufacture, use, internal possession, delivery, transfer, or transportation of marihuana or paraphernalia relating to the administration of marihuana to treat or alleviate a registered qualifying patient's debilitating medical condition or symptoms associated with the debilitating medical condition.

would constitute patient to patient transfers legal because of the working of delivery and transfer, etc. especially when the patients rights are so expressly outlined here:

Sec. 4. (a) A qualifying patient who has been issued and possesses a registry identification card shall not be subject to arrest, prosecution, or penalty in any manner, or denied any right or privilege, including but not limited to civil penalty or disciplinary action by a business or occupational or professional licensing board or bureau, for the medical use of marihuana in accordance with this act, provided that the qualifying patient possesses an amount of marihuana that does not exceed 2.5 ounces of usable marihuana, and, if the qualifying patient has not specified that a primary caregiver will be allowed under state law to cultivate marihuana for the qualifying patient, 12 marihuana plants kept in an enclosed, locked facility. Any incidental amount of seeds, stalks, and unusable roots shall also be allowed under state law and shall not be included in this amount.

i believe it clearly shows that when a caregiver is in possession of the plants there is clarity that it is that patients plants, not the caregivers. however, it never says anything about limitations as to what the patient can do with their own plants, the only place anything is outlined in that respect is that there is allowances for delivery, transfer, transport, etc etc etc...



edited to add:
section 4a specifies that it is protections to the "medical use" of marihuana, which if you refer back to the first segment of the law i quoted would in fact be the patients absolute protection in any delivery, transfer, or transportation in helping administer marijuana to a qualifying patient. as long as you are within your limits the law should be on your side. however, there will have to be precedent set, because cops want to be dickheads.

I've looked up most of the law and it's still a lot to take in. Almost a too good to be true type of situation, but that's why I've come here to find out from existing patients...
