so Im about 5 weeks into flowering and I have heard about flushing them with sugar water or molasses to plump up the buds. I was wondering what the ratio of sugar to water or molasses to water and when you would want to start fushing them with it.

NOOOOO to the sugar water - won't do the plants any good, and will just attract undesireable insects.

Molasses is fine - pure blackstrap molasses is what you want. There is NO sugar in the pure stuff. You will want to add about a tablespoon to a gal. of water. You can do it along with nutes (no need to do it separately).
