Suggestions please! Main problem, heat!

I have been planning a grow for a long time and want to make it a reality. I am planning on making a 2X4X? closet box. (dxwxh)

I am going to get a 400 or 600 watt fixture with either a metal halide or hps conversion bulb and a reflector with glass and inline.

I am worried about heat and pondering co2. Would a 600 watt be too much with my small space?

I was thinking maybe a thermostat set up with a fan that turns on the box fan only when the temp gets to 80 and then turns off when the temp goes down to 76. (Not quite sure how to wire this, is it expensive?) The inline over the light would be on all the time and co2 would be slowly leaving a bottle with regulator all the time, or yeast..

Besides heat, my other main concern is noise. So, I wan't to keep my fan's running as quietly as possible- which is directly related to the heat... Will expensive fans be any quieter than a home depot $30 inline? And, how much more effective? I was contemplating some sort of dampener box that i could build around my fans.

How tall should I make my box? I only want to veg pure afghan from DNA genetics for 4 weeks.

As a side note I've thought about T5 4ft 8 bulb fixtures but would only want to go with that if flowering was possible with it, which seams to be up in the air depending what forum/site your on.

So my main questions are how to vent my box quietly AND effectively and if both of these requirements can be met with a 600 or if i need to go with a 400.

Thank you in advance!

I would like to see you use a 600, but I know the 400 will need a smaller fan to cool which means it would be quieter to run a 400...imo

I'm running a simlar sized box with a 400, and heat is a big issue, i can't get it to stay stable.

I'm running a 4" inlet fan, threw a carbon filter, to stop any nasty bugs from getting in and a 6" extraction fan, the extraction fan should change the air in my room 4 times evdery minet, okay it's probably only doing it 2 times a minet realistlcly.

If I run these fans all day, the room will stay under 28c, but then the humidity dropts below 20% and the plants start to wilt.

Any way, "Cool Tube" for you light, i've not got one but I think it will solove all my problems.
If you want really quite fans you will need to buy them from a speshlist store.

Check out my journal. I have a few things to say about closets and putting furnaces in them. THe 4'-8 tube t-5 light will simply be a much better choice for your situation. VV
