Get these bulbs and T-5's will change the way you grow. How many watts? I would say 5 or 6 comfortably.

I have a 6 bulb quantum badboy. I use those aquarium bulbs along with a couple cfl's and I net about 5 or 6 oz's per grow consisting of 3 plants. Which isn't bad considering much penetration lacks with T-5's

Oh for veg, I would say 8 plants as a guestimate. Depending on how long you veg them for.
you have like 400 watts yeah? how many lumens is each bulb? around 2000?
if so, you can have a max of to seven. i would recommend less.
im using what i was taught. 100 watts for the first plant, and at least 50 for each additional.
fluorescents are less bright vs. mh or hps. i would do four, maybe five.
