I was looking at possible options for my grow room and saw where they see a glass plate that sits under the bulb of my light. Can anyone tell me the function of the glass? Is it a good idea to use it?
It's also there to keep the bulb from being accidentally sprayed, or otherwise hit, by water - which can make a "POP" that will scare the Hell out of you!
Oh yeah! The glass will get hot as Hell too, unless you "Air cool" the reflector hood.
If your going 250 watt there is not that much heat
that glass will filter out any UV that your bulb gives off and MJ loves UV so I say don't use it, but that is my opinion
