I'd like to hang a Sun System 150 HPS vertically to provide some penetrating side light to my dense canopy during flowering... any safety issue with hanging one of these vertically, I'd assume bulb-up?

What a novel idea. I had searched their website and it is void of any contact information, but thanks to your pathetic attempt at humor, your sarcastic answer has provided me with that option. Wish you could have conveyed that to me face to face.
Hellmutt - I didn't purchase the unit and it wouldn't have been my first choice for side lighting, but it was a gift and I figured I may as well supplement my 400w HPS if I can do so safely.

I have one and have used it vertically in the past for side lighting during flower. I think I hung it lamp down/cord up. There is no problem with the fixture being hung vertically but some lamps can be specific to a horizontal or vertical position.
