I just did my first ever cloneing the other day , Took 6 cuttings ( was REALLY scared ... i had to make it work as i was flipping the mothers to flower ) to my total supprise all 6 THRIVED ...I was delighted ...Heres what i did .
I soaked the Cocopellets overnight in a 1 ltr mix of PH ballenced water ( 5.8 ) with 1mil of Rhizotonic and 1 mil of H2o2
Next day gave them a little squeeze to get rid of a bit of the water ( Not all ... they was still damp just not dripping wet
I put the wet empty Coco Pellets into half filled pots just to keep them from rolling around and then put them under the light in the propergator for a few hours prior to planting to get them up to temp , I then took the cutting's and used CloneX , I used a syringe and popped a little Gel in the holes i made in the Coco pellets and placed cuttings in , Misted them with PH ballenced (5.8 ) water and 1 mil of H2o2 .... Misted the dome with just PHed water
I cut a couple of straws up an squeezed them into the Coco ready to prop the cuttings up if need be ... and to my supprise i had zero wilting and they pushed the straws to the side after about 3 days .. it was all i could have hoped for and more
So my first Cloneing is a 100% sr
2 weeks on and they are showing a bit of yellowing on the old leaves but the new growth is very healthy .
So Super Thrive .... Ok I will admit ... I was taken by the ST label .... Normaly i can over look the " BUY ME " type things ... But i just needed to know for myself
I heard all the arguments for and against it ... seen all the mistakes people was making with it ( doing to much )... seen all the confusion over how much or how little to use and at what stage ... So i was aware of it all ... But still .. I need to know
Useing in Flower stage is a No No ( Slows growth ... or so im told ) so i decided to try it on my new clones , Hard to say if it had any effects really , Other than the day after i fed them they did look a bit more perked up ... So im gonna reserve my judgment on them unitil i do my next cloneing session and do a side by side study .. one with one without .
I really do have a feeling ( After reading all the Science of it ) that its just one of them products that makes YOU feel better rather than be of any real benifit to the plant ... With that said ... I'm not calling it Snake Oil just yet ... Time will tell
can post pics if needed .
Hope this helps a bit though
EDIT... yes ...i forrgot to mention ... I also trimmed the lower fan leaves ... this sends a signal to the plant that stimulate root growth
