Supplemental lighting help for 400 watt HID

What's good, RIU? This is my first real grow. I planted 5 seeds expecting some males but only had one. As a newbie mistake, I figured that 400 watts would be plenty of light for all of them. They were vegged for different amount of times as they were germinated and put in soil weeks apart because I made some fuck ups with the seedlings. I vegged the Blue OG and Deep Cheese for 8 weeks, Wild Thai for 5 weeks, and Nebula (BS) for 6 weeks. So now I have 4 lovely ladies in their 2nd week of flowering under a 400 watt HPS. Problem is, they are a lot bigger than I expected and i'm discovering I do not have enough light coverage. There's a lot of growth on the sides and a lot of foliage in the plants. I did pluck a few leaves to let light to bud sights but i've heard such mixed opinions on this that i'm hesitant to do much. However, its obvious the plants aren't getting enough light. All the girls were topped except Thai. They were all bent to strengthen the stems and stock. Full line of Fox Farm going. I just purchased 8 2700k 23w 1600 lumen cfls, a power strip, 4 outlet-to-socket adapters, and 4 y-splitters to make a power strip CFL fixture. Where would be the best place to put this fixture? I also have 4 5000k 1600 lumen cfls, 1 veg bulb and 1 flower bulb that have 3600 lumens each. Right now with the 400 watt and CFL fixture lit up, my highest temp is 84 degrees. RH runs between 30-45%. How can I distribute the light to make the most of my it for my set up? Should I get more light? CFL fixture suggestions? Any advice is greatly appreciated. The picture is of my current setup. It's 3'x2'. 2 plants in the back and 2 in the front. Stay lifted! :joint:

Kaelyb,
The obvious solution is to by the next size hid. Will your 400 run MH as well? You could then run the 400mh for vegging and the 600hps for bloom. A whole bunch if little lights won't do the same thing as a major upgrade.
