"Synthetic marijuana a growing trend among teens"

The latest trend at teen parties isn't warm beer or prescription medicines pilfered from parents' medicine cabinets. Instead, increasing numbers of youths are turning to an herb-based product to get high, and unlike marijuana, it's perfectly legal. It's known as K2 or Spice, a synthetic substance that, when smoked, gives users a marijuana-like high, according to drug authorities. Its growing popularity is causing increasing alarm among health care professionals, law enforcement authorities and lawmakers, with one Drug Enforcement Agency official calling its use the equivalent of "playing Russian roulette."

Manufactured in Asia and sold online or in local stores, K2 and similar substances are marketed as herbal incense. A disclaimer on a K2-selling Web site reads: "K2Herbal products are novelty incenses and are not for consumption."
Sold in various flavors in 3-gram bags, the product consists of herbs that are sprayed with synthetic substances that mimic THC, the high-causing natural chemical found in marijuana.

Has anyone else heard of this, or tried it?

OMG HAHAHAHHAHAHA thats fucking hilarious

What, smoke blends? Yeah they're popular, and usually mixed with a synthetic cannabinoid called JWH-018. Look that up you can find it sold by various vendors... as a research chemical, so it aint REALLY easy to find but yeah...

I'm about to make a thread about it

K2 got me just as high as 2 bowls of dro, with 4 hits.

Gave me droopy eyes, cotton mouth and slight euphoria for around 15 mins or so

tasted like a camp fire, but did what it was supposed to do.

I just had to give it a shot b4 it was took off the shelf.

Buddy of mine packaged the stuff for a local company that made it down in Louisiana... his g/f of 24 smoked some and started having a heart attack, needless to say he quit his job and joined the boat to ban the stuff.

His girl, health wise is perfect, smokes the normal ganja like a freight train with no problems... but that Voodoo crap they have down here is a problem, and a health problem at that.

I have smoked it before and still do occasionally. Sure if you smoked it all the time it may be bad a few years down the road, and it may not be for everybody but, it works when you cannot smoke mj. It usually lasts a couple hours then I get sleepy.

I know a few guys that make up good blends with JWH...it's not bad but you have to go easy on the stuff... it can get you way too high too fast which leads to an unpleasant experience. I've found 2 good rips off the pipe work well, and doesn't over do it... it does take some getting used to if you have to use it to dodge testings at work... if they do it randomly.

Does anybody see the irony here? Because of prohibition, people are resorting to smoking some questionable "herbal" product. I know virtually nothing about this stuff but I've heard of people dying after smoking it, people becoming majorly addicted.............I have over 20 years of personal experience with good ole Maryjane! I have never heard anybody making those kind of claims about it and still it remains a Schedule 1 substance "having no currently accepted medical value and a high potential for abuse".:blsmoke:

Yeah, I'm not usually one to jump on a bandwagon, especially claiming a pot substitute causes panic attacks/heart attacks, but with this... and it affecting a close friend, the stuff is bad news and I am staying away from it.

Even worse is it being sold as incense, an 8 year old can go and buy the stuff!

I have never heard of anyone actually dying from it and you can only purchase it if your 18 at the liquor store by my house.
