I spent months researching through all the garbage and conflicting internet "truths" about growing, and what was needed, to make sure I did it right. I cut some corners on a couple things, but made sure new equipment and the best tech was involved.
I'm within a week of flipping the lights over to flower, after battling heat issues from outside the tent for a couple weeks. I will have been in beg for about 6 weeks at the time I flip. Just filling last little bit of canopy now.
Here's what I got going:
-60x60x80 grow tent (its off brand, but i did love the price point and it works well without light leaks.
-630w dual-bulb cmh, started with one bulb for first 2 weeks, have been using both bulbs now for a few weeks. 4200k
-AC Infinity T6 inline fan, 4-layer 6" ducting, and 6" carbon filter (all inside the tent along ceiling) The controller is set to turn on to regulate temp to 76°, and monitors humidity levels. I did not set the controller for control of humidity below 64% as I have a hard time keeping humidity up to 50 already.
-Root Pouch brand 3 gallon pots
-18" oscillating fan
-Canna Coco medium
-Humidifier with humistat set to 50%, yet it struggles to keep 35% since fan is almost always on when lights on.
-Canna Nutrients: Coco A & B, Rhizotonic, Cannazym, and Botanicare CalMag+
My questions are:
Did I do it right?
I know ambient temps outside of the tent are what's causing the temps to barely be controllable by my fan setup, as the slumlord refuses to fix the heater that just stays on all the time. How can I lower temps other than the blocking of the heater, directing exhaust air out through window top, and intake ducting attached to bottom of window to try to pull cooler Alaska air from outside? I'd like to avoid a/c if at all possible as the draw on the circuit is already pretty significant with both bulbs in the light.
AND I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HEAR DEMONTRICH's thoughts if he ever reads this. He had an amazing conversation going regarding using just the 4200k broad spectrum bulbs for the entire grow cycle.
