A San Jacinto man was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 20, in connection with a stabbing during a botched marijuana deal outside a Temecula Walmart earlier this month, authorities said.
...The stabbing happened early Aug. 5 in the parking lot of the Walmart at 32225 Temecula Parkway. A 20-year-old man, whose name was not disclosed, had agreed to meet someone named Ricky to sell him marijuana, according to search warrant documents.
When Ricky tried to pay for the marijuana with what the 20-year-old seller believed was counterfeit money, the seller refused the cash. Ricky stabbed him in the arm and another man stabbed him in the face, court record say. The men also stole the marijuana, sheriffs officials said.
The seller was admitted to a hospital with severe injuries but is recovering, McDonald said.
The injured man told deputies that he did not want his attackers to be prosecuted and that he would not cooperate with the investigation, court records say.
However, officers seized the mans cell phones and eventually identified Kundev as a suspect, sheriffs officials said.
