Temp question

If growing in soil under an hps is heat as big a concern as it is with hydroponics? I live in the desert and I've seen some outdoor grows in 5 gallon pots that were fine at over 100 degrees. Is soil more heat friendly? Is it because the plants outside are under different light cycles?

If you are growing outdoor with those temperatures, just be sure you have enough drainage done in you re pot and also be sure the soil wont be dry for too long otherwise you might put you re plant under high stress and give them bad time.

If you are growing indoor, be sure you have oscillating fan moving the air non stop and try to have an income and outcome of you re air in the room.

Nothing is heat friendly. You just have to deal with every aspect when it happen. Avoid letting them go without any of you re help this wont give any good results. Just be there for them during heat period and everything should be fine.

Plants are made to live in extreme condition. (Depend on how long that condition last)

Yes heat is a concern but unlike hydroponics water temperature/the funk isn't a threat. My Strawberry Cough plant is outside taking 100+ temps and she even had a week of nothing under 105, never even drooped.. Indoors that same plant is stressed at 85F, 1500PPM C02, 50% humidity and constant airflow.. If I took it to 90F I think she would shock, OG Kush RDC cut in the same rack just doesn't give a wily fuck about 90F at all though. Her sister OG Kush SFV hit the turf at 85 and never got back up...

It must be the fullness of the Sun's spectrum giving something to the plant it needs to endure that heat. By the way that outdoor Strawberry which is nearly finished, is outside in a 5 gallon potter not in the ground.

To be more accurate, I have an electric fruit punch in a 5 gallon bucket under a 250W high pressure sodium. There's about 2 inches of hydroton in the bottom and the plant was planted in fox farms. I added molasses, Mexican bat guano and some bloom nutrients to the RO water i use and it gets watered about twice a week. This is in a shed in my back yard. I have a ducted fan with the uptake right next to the bulb and the exhaust going outside the shed. There is a fan on during the light cycle. Temps in the she might be reaching 90 during the afternoon. Thanks for your help.
