Temp weirdness

So heres a question for you guys,
My grow room has a tendency to run hot, it killed the yield of my last grow. But now that its getting cooler my grow room only runs hot at about 90° until about 8pm, (the lights come on at 6pm) and then cools down to between 76 and 82.
I'll get an AC for the room when I get paid in a couple weeks.
My question is will those couple of hours where it runs really hot affect bud growth? My girls are 3 days into flower, and by the time I can really regulate the temp they'll be a good three weeks in.

If what you say is accurate, then the logical conclusion is to push back your 'lights on' time to at least 8pm, as surely 6am-8am will be significantly cooler than 6pm-8pm. Simply wait until tomorrow and allow your plants an extra two hours of darkness, until 8pm. A temperature of 90f is rather hot and should be avoided if at all possible.

Fantastic idea thank you. Another question, would it hurt the plants to put the dark period back to 6pm once I finally get my A/C?

No it wouldn't hurt, but I'd do it by cutting the lights off at 6am rather than starting with lights on at 6pm (ie, 10 hours of light over only 10 hours of darkness); when such transitions must be conducted during flowering, I think it's always wiser to side with darkness.

Wow thanks for the quick responses and good advice. I'll kick the lights on at 8:30 tomorrow and transition like you guys suggested, appreciate it!

Its very hot where I am as well and this is what I have to do during summer. I have my lights on from 6pm-12pm. So theyvare off from noon-6pm when its hottest. Even with them on at those hours it still gets up to 83-85 sometimes during the day which is still too hot. With lights on though, it only gets between 75-81. I also open everything up at night and open the door to the outside for a few hours early in the morning to let some cool air in.
