Ten weeks into flowering and my trichomes are not amber though my leaves are drying

I am growing ATFs and White Widows. The ATFs are supposed to be 60% stativa and the white widows are suppose to be 40% stativa yet the trichomes on both seem about the same. They are mostly clear though they are starting to get milky. For almost two weeks now I have given them nothing but water, assuming I was in the final stage but today I noticed that there is new hairs growing on the buds, even though most of them are brown. The leaves are almost all yellow or brown and a couple of plants have brown leaves around the buds which makes it difficult to assess whether or not the trichomes are clear, milky or amber. I have found very few that actually look like they might be amber. I am very confused about all this. Where do I go from here? I appreciate all the help I can get.

You just mistimed it a little, it happens even to experienced growers with unfamiliar strains sometimes. Add a little (n) to stave it off, you should never cut (n) completely anyways, at least in my opinion.
