The bonus round category is name these egg things

In my backyard I have in addition to some large tubs where my precious ladies reside I also have a number of raised beds full of veggies. I noticed on the ground the other day next to one of the raised beds these weird looking egg sack things. They ultimately dried up before unleashing a swarm of whatever resided inside, but I am curious as to what they were none the less. All guesses welcome.

slugs or snails, one of the 2 definately. Looks exactly like the eggs from pond snails, frogs, or salamanders as well, but since these are not in/near a water feature I am assuming snails or slugs.
