I have a 600watt HPS/MH setup with reflector, no cooling control with it
I have a standard coat/wardrobe closet with a questimate measurement of 3.5 feet wide and 2.5 feet deep. When trying grow a seedling using MiracleGrow organic Mix, my plant seemed like it was stunted. The bottom leaves where shriveling, and the tips of the top leaves started burning sorta. My friend says its quite hot in my closet and my lamp, which is like 8 or so feet away from the plant is like a tanning light to tan under, its so powerful. It gives off like 55000 to 90ooo lumens. I use regular tap water, no reflective mylar and I do use a oscillating fan from a department store. I think that fan is not enough,

I know my setup is filled with flaws, but I dont know what Im getting into. Can someone help me figure all of this out, I want a higher yeild as possible and I was thinkin my light should be placed on the ceiling and I should just use a portion of my room as my growspace for heat reducing reasons.

Well to help you out, make sure you let your water stand for at least 24hours in an open container, this will let some of the purifying chemicals put in water such as chlorine, or flouride to evaporate, that way it doesn't affect your soils ph. Don't put the light up too high as your plant will stretch towards it, you wanna have it as close as possible without burning, this will keep the nodes tighter together. If it gets too hot your plant will suffer though so make sure it stays ventilated.
