Ott is fairly deluded. He's like those crazy feminists who think that flag poles are phallic symbols. Santa Claus came from St. Nicholas, who was a cardinal, hence the red robes. And Amanita mushrooms are associated with Christmas because they are colorful and because they grow around pine trees which are also associated with Christmas.
