The Native American Churches, Peyote Way, Santa Domei etc.

I have noticed that the NAC seems to have splintered into a number of churches. Splintered maybe not the word since some of these churches don't seem to have direct ties to the orginal NAC. Some of these churches and I use the word church lightly here, have declared that all plants, animals, funguses etc. are potential suitable sacraments for the creator. This of course includes mushrooms, cannabis, peyote, san pedro etc. The peyote way states that it's members sacred duty is to grow the cactus, this seems to have flown even though the NAC doesn't take that position. Non natives in some states are allowed to participate while not in others.

I guess my question is, is this all bullshit? I would say that the Peyote Way church would afford it's members in allowed states to use peyote and maybe grow it. But do these other splinter groups actually afford their members usage of other non peyote sacraments legally? Santa Domei not included since they're a totally different thing. I have seen few if any legal cases in regards to non ayahusca or peyote sacraments, most were just tossed out.

Anyone a member? Anyone know first hand what has happended to someone who has claimed religious exemption of their sacrament and has a run in with the law?

I would love to grow mushrooms or peyote legally and give it away to church members but I'm not sure I would want to be a test case.

They probably could make a case for it's not protected. Someone will have to get busted and a court challenge made.
