hey all

I was wanting to know since im going to start to flower, if my 2 4foot florecent lights that i have used this whole time can be strong enough to flower 4 plants? It hangs from top of them and has been really good upmtill now.. I really dont have money to spend to get another light deal. If i did i know that i have to get 400w high pressure sodium. or something like that, but is it possibe to still use my 2 4foot florescent lights i'v been using!

You can flower with it, but you won't get much results. Can you afford another shoplight? Maybe add 1 or 2 more fixtures, that will help, or add a couple compact flourescents.

If nothing else, at least switch tubes to warm white for flowering.

I did grow veg&flower under 3 two tube shop lights in the closet. They stretched real bad.Three plants at a time and it took alot longer to grow to finish.I now veg under 4 -2' 30 watt flo tubes and flower under a 400 watt air cooled HPS.I hope to have my cab finished in 2 weeks so I can clone and start seeds, then veg them under the 400 watt MH in my ebb flood tray with net pots and clay pellets. Then switch to the HPS to flower.I'am flowering under 400 watt HPS now and its like 8 to 9 weeks to finish, where as before it took about 12 weeks to finish and now with much better yeilds. Before 3 plants I got about 1 1/2 oz and now I get around 3 to 4 ozs from 3 plants. As you grow you learn more and soon you will get bigger yeilds. thats my two pennys ,Peace

Those will most certainly not do. Even with the greatest of reflective material, a simple fluro just doesn't put out enough lumens. I definitely suggest you go with some high output lumen CFLs. Get the 150W equivalent CFLs. You can get them at Home Depot in packaged deals for pretty cheap. With 4 plants you would probably need 10 CFLs. The minimum is 2 per plant. They will definitely do the job all the way through. Good luck with your grow!

Why is ordering from HTGsupply.com so great?
Ask any plant and they will tell you that they prefer lighting systems from HTGsupply.com. Not only are the lighting systems top quality, but the gardeners who choose HTGsupply.com receive their lights quickly in discreetly packaged shipments and save a TON of money over retail and other websites. Gardeners can choose to order over the internet, call in their orders or pay by money order/check. HTGsupply.com will meet or beat any advertised price on comparable lighting systems, just let them know if you think you've found a better deal anywhere (not likely).

heehee, I can answer both questions at once! :blsmoke:

Buy warm white or cool white or daylight or night lights at a lighting store.

A 200w will adequately light a 2 foot x 2 foot area.
