ok to the point i have noticed for a long time that the smell changes dramatically when lights of.
basically soon as light goes of the smell changes instantly. (12/12)
was wondering if anyone knew why this happens? what changes so fast for the smell to change so much. i cant even describe it head to paper description is so bad lol
plus by the time i wrote this i forgot what it even smells like lol.

Even though I'm a little over 6 weeks into flower I still notice a huge change in smell when the lights are off. As dumb as it sounds, the smell seems to get darker lol. More fuely with heavier and thicker undertones

i was thinking of experiments lol like what do it do/ so would it be good to do it more often?

It could have something to do with the plants stomata (stomates) closing during dark hours.

Don't know for sure, but think of the photosynthesis process during the day and the stomata are open.

It might be the same smell as it is when lights are on.

But the fact that the lights are on means that it dissipates more and the fact that the carbon filter also serves to evacuate the smells mean that there is less of a smell when the lights are on.

When the lights and fans are off the smell does not get dissipated.

the guys are right about the stomas and dissipation-- it also has to do with our sense of smell !

Warmer air makes the molecules that our nasal receptors pick up as smell spread further apart & move faster- so we pick up fewer of them, and the strongest ones are more prevalent... as it cools- the molecules get closer together and slow down, so we 'smell' more of them- even the smaller ones, so the 'mix' is different.

lol... has nothing to do with heat and everything to do with the plants production and resting periods.... Cervantes and Rosenthal both discuss why this occurs in their books and the smell is most potent just before lights go back on. This deeper aroma occurs in veg state as well if youre in a 18/6 but nearly so dramatically

well its mad thou lol. i was gonna say cant be any thing to do with heat coz the change happens instantly not enougth to change heat so quick

still need to buy them books :)
