THE SpACE CaB : STEALTH CFL / Home Depot Cabinet / Kerala x Skunk #1 & Bag Seed Grow

Well hello to everyone again who was following the build of this vessel....And greetings to all who are new to the SpACE CaB....

This is my third grow...My first grow was a complete disaster...2nd grow under cfls was going very good till I had to chop it weeks early...The pot turned out pretty good though....So this is my 3rd grow ever, and 1st grow in this new cab I built....

As of right now only the flower chamber is operable...I still have some ventilation and heating issues to take care of in the Vegg/Clone/Experimental Chambers.....

SOME OF THE DETAILS :

SOIL - Pro-mix HP with worm castings, perlite, and dolomite lime...The lime was pelletized...I soaked some of the pellets in a cup of water for a week and they still looked the same...So I am grinding up most of the lime I put in with my girlfriend's food processor

LIGHTING: Combo of 23-26 watt cfls, and some T5HO for side lighting...Iam going to try and put as many cfls in the flower chamber as temps will allow...As of right now I am looking at putting around 14 in the flower chamber, however, there are 28 sockets available in the flower chamber.....

SEEDS: I have some freebies from Herbies...I'll be planting 2 Kerala x Skunk #1, as well as 4 bag seeds....I'm hoping to end up with 2 big plants in the flower chamber...If there are leftover females perhaps I will run some experiments on them in the experiment chamber - scrog, lst, or something I have yet to try....

NUTES: As of right now I only have Jacks classic...I also plan on using molasses...

Input and suggestions on the cab, and grow are welcomed as I am still a newb.....

So at 4:25 am EST just over an hour ago I put 4 bag seeds in some water in shot glasses...Hopefully they sink as they are kind of old...They are most likely a year to a few years old.....Two of the seeds came from a friend who said he got them out of good buds...the other two are a complete mystery....I will also be planting 2 Kerala x Skunk#1.....

I will be starting them in jiffy pellets....

To help keeps temps down I will put a fan on the floor of the cab, and I think I am going to try a cool mist humidifier....Hopefully that will bring temps down but also help raise my humidity...Last test I ran with the lights on humidity was a cotton-mouthy 16%...The highest the humidity has gotten since I turned the unit on was 38%...So seems like a no-brainer to use one....

The Kerala x Skunk#1 is 87.5% Sativa and 12.5% Indica.

I have the exact same cabninet check it out I use it to veg and I have a proper flwr room 2x 600w hps and 230w led. check out mycab.

Looks good Dr....With only 8 cfls, do you ever get stretching during Vegg ? How many plants do you vegg under those 8 bulbs ?

I have two small sections on the left of my cab that hold 9 bulbs each.

cd, no I haven't contacted them...do you think I should ? Sucks, I ordered 4 seeds...two didn't sprout, I lost one somewhere in the kitchen, and now I have one left...Damn, no you got me thinking I should have planted that last one....oh well, too late...Next time....

The seeds were still floating today, but I just tapped them, and then they sank...Here's a pic of the seeds in one of those jiffy greenhouses...I covered it up so the seeds and seedlings are not exposed to light....That was about 7 hours ago.Temps are holding steady at 82 in there....

I went to Target today to get a cool mist humidifier but they only had a big one...Should have gone to Wally World instead, dohhhh....Oh well not quite needed right at this moment anyways.....

I need to get some more 6500k bulbs...Last time I ordered from 1000bulb.com .....Anyone know if they are the cheapest place to get bulbs from ? The local places only seem to have 5000k.

seems like bullshit to me, i swear people have said good things about their customer service??? i cant believe about the bulbs, i looked at home depot and they where 5000k also, whats up with that?? i would think those would be alright for vegging though. 4 pack 26 watts for $10.

Hmmm....im not sure about the 5000k.....I had such good success with 6500k last grow I almost want to stay with them.....anyone know anyone who had a GOOD vegg with 5000k or partially using 5000k ?

I see people veg with 5000K on here, but if you look at a photosynthesis chart, 5000K isn't too good, but then 5500K is near perfect. I would go with the 6500K personally. The only 6500K bulbs I found at Lowes were the instant on at around $10 for two.

bro, thats the best deal i could fine too. the 6500k's are like gold now, LoL. i just read in another post that anything above 5000k should be fine for vegging.

yeah, they have those 42 watt 6500k's for like $9.

Damn, doesn't Home Depot and Lowes realize that us marijuana growers need those 6500.....any home depot employees here please pass it to your higher ups that we need 6500k cfls, lol

I've been using the 5700k from Home Depot for vegging, they work quite well

I vegged with 6500k in the early seedling stages then added 4-23w/5000k for the rest of veg and on into flower. First time using CFLs so i cant really speak on what is the best spectrum but the frost don't lie.

nice lookin' plant there....so how many 6500k bulbs did you use in conjunction with the 5000k bulbs....also the previous post you said 5700k bulbs....were they 5000k or 5700k.....thanks, SC

I actually used 2-23w/6500k bulbs for the first few weeks then added 1-27w/6400k and 4-23w/5000k a few weeks later. Then once into flower i added 2-23w/2700k. It was GMZ who had mentioned 5700k...
