The Truth About the Commission on Presidential Debates

The Commission on Presidential Debates is a private corporation headed by the former chairmen of the Republican and Democratic parties, professional lobbyist. The CPD is a duopoly which allows the major party candidates to draft secret agreements about debate arrangements including moderators, debate format and even participants. The result is a travesty riddled with sterile, non-contentious arguments which consistently exclude alternative voices that Americans want to hear. A debate does not even take place, canididates pre-agree no to respond to things said and the moderator also does so so technically no real debate can be had.

If I press "like" it would indicate that I like this "arrangement". The candidates each foist half truths, and in some cases outright lies upon the voting public, they do it for months and they do it with blatant disregard for realtiy. But fine, challenges to each man's presentation of "fact" are slow, even if they arrive in the same news cycle as the original comment. But fine again, after all, we can hold each of the candidates feet to the fire in the debates, in fact each candidate can finally hold the other accountable for the slop they have said - face to face like, see how they like a final confronation. Put all the monkeys in the same room and see what happens.

Oh, wait, they have rigged this so that we will never discover the truth, perhaps not even after they become president.

Lovely system.

The debates are a joke, I would bet the dems dont agree to have any quesitons concerning, health care, unemployment and or the economic snapshot.

Will be a waste of time and geared by the campaigns to make theirs look the best.

Why would the dems not want to talk about health care?

Lovely system.

You have to elect it to know what's in it.
