At least I will be bi soon (soil & hydro running at the same time for a little while ).
Hello all. I previously did an intro here. VV suggested I start journaling. So, I'm jumping in. Thanks for having me!
I am currently a soil grower but am moving to hydro for a few reasons.
1 is that the perpetual harvest thing is getting old and ties me down too much.
2 is that I want to start doing about 3 or 4 big harvests each year with breaks in between (instead of pulling plants weekly).
3 is the most embarrassing reason. I'm a big retard and stupidly brought an outdoor plant inside and now have spider mites. BIG TIME! My room needs to be stripped down and cleaned. I figure no better time than now to make the change.
Here's my plan as of today: a: Keep harvesting plants currently in 12/12 as long as possible and move no more into bloom room. b: Get my mothers and existing clones free of critters (plants in veg don't have the mite problem too bad because of the humidity in that area). c: Hit the grow store and price my options. d: try not to freak out about the whole thing.
Also, going forward, I will try to include the minimum details (a. how much nutrients used, b. ph of water, c. medium used, d. temperature of room, e. light cycle calendared, f. water schedule).
But, today, I'm just going to begin this thing and throw up a few pics since I've heard many of you are picture ho's!
The attached pics are of a Dynamite that I pulled yesterday. She was beginning her 7th week when I yanked her. I was concerned that mites I saw might move into the buds (who likes to hear the tell-tale snap, crackle, pop when smoking mite infested bud???).
I'll post more when I get her trimmed and hanging. Thanks again for letting me stumble into this journal thing! Let me know if I'm missing important do's and don'ts of participating.
All Posters Welcome, BTW!
