These powerbox's confuse me! (first thread)

Hey everybody, thanks for stoping by and checkin out my first thread ever. Like stated in the title i am baffled by these power boxes, for example the "DCP-8000-240V-4P". It has a 4 prong plug that i dont have any clue where to plug into, maybe i can plug that into an adapter then into the 3 prong outlet on my wall? And then plug the ballasts into the powerbox? Can extension cords from ballast to powerbox be used if i have a veg and a flower room? And most importantly, is this "powerbox" whats going to keep me from having an electrical fire? Any help would be greatly apriceated :peace:

I have not used one of these, but checking them online I see that
they are built in Cali.

I am betting that any non-standard plug is meant to be used between
different components of that device. i.e. my ballast has a odd plug
but it fits into the ballast and runs to the lights.

Good luck,

JD

The 4 prong plug goes into an outlet similar to your stove or dryer. You may need an electrician to run one from your panel. My 4 output powerbox with the 4 prong plug needed a 30amp circuit

U need a 240 line ran to ur room with that plug have u already bought it ?
He's got it bang on here, I'm an electrician by trade. You can probably buy the female end for the receptacle at any hardware store, the ballast should have an amperage rating so all you have to do is buy the appropriate amperage plug that matches the prong style, and either run a new 240V line over from your panel or utilise an existing one that can handle the power draw from your ballast.
