This may be the stupidest lighting question ever but here goes.....

Was moving some stuff around to setup a new veg area and came across a whole box of red and blue led xmas lights. They are friggin bright and don`t get hot. I have plenty of cfl lights as it is, just wondering if I string my ladies up like a christmas tree would this be of any help? Wrong kind of leds? Comments and insults welcome!

Have them setup in a scrog, what if the lights were on a seperate screen about an inch higher?
