Hey RIU!

I'm setting up my flowering room up right now and its looking beautiful! Is 27" (2 ft 3") too far away from my plants? Running a 400w HPS. I have an oscilating fan blowing over my plants and 120 mm fan blowing air out. Its not burning the tops of the plants, I just want to make sure I dont have to move them closer. Thanks!!!

Place a mercury thermometer on the tops of one of your plants for 15 mins and see what the temperature is. If its above 90, you are going to have problems. If its close to 90, you will have to monitor it very closely. If its under 85, you should be fine.

i had my 400w about 18 inches from my tops with no burning, i was using and intake and exhaust and you are to so shouldn't be a problem but like muyoso said just use a thermometer to see how hot it gets as your get closer to the plants. and keep them under 80.

Mr I Can Do That For Half
I keep my 400 watt lights about 8 inches from plant tops with no glass or cool tubes. My 600 watt lights about 10-12 inches and my 1000 watt lights about 12-14 inches above.I never have any burning issue if I keep these distances and fans moving the air at the tops of the plants

K thanks for your help! The reason I asked this is because my ceiling in my closet is pretty high and 27" is the closest I can get. So yall think the plants will start stretching if I don't move it closer?

I have my 600w hps about 50cm away from mine, the best way to tell is if you put your hand under the light & it feels too warm then it's too close x
