trying to get some info on my dream grow. since i have to be super stealth in a closet
i really need some tips on how to set up and what i may need. this closet is 59 and a half inch long by 35 inch wide and like 8 ft tall. I want maximum yields with next to 0 noise and smell

any thoughts?
 
I think you'd be best off getting some CFL's and do some LST. If you want to use HID you'd have to get a fan because you'd have heat problems, and they're pretty loud (at least the one I have is).
 
hmm yeah i am thinking of creative ways to masks fan sound by like all ways having a room fan on in my room. or like maybe a fish tank making all that bubbling sound that is if i go hydro but a good friend of mine hinted to even use the fish tank for my res lol.
 
mount the fan in the attic use a 400 watt hps with vented shield back by a elf scrubber, fan being in the attic eliminates fan noise!
there needs to be three holes in the roof x2 for fan intank and outake! 3rd for passive intake and temp controll. that will eliminate
odor!
 
If you're handy, build containment boxes and mufflers out of plywood. Then you can have all the power and glory of 2x600W HPS. cn
 
hmm yeah that sounds good ..and i think there is a light from the closet that i could take out to make the 3erd hole, Brilliance!
so the scrubber and fan both go in the addict?
but wont the sound resonate in the empty addict? cause i know when i talk in an empty house its way louder then one with stuff in it.
 
yeah i would love to do that. think i will but i need to get by with just a 400 at least till i get some bones to afford them.
 
as for soil vs hydro go hydro drain to waist and go 0 veg and get your yields with plant numbers, so 60 plants each hopfully yielding aroung 7grams due the math
thats 420grams just short of a pound :)

scrubber stays in the room fan stays in the attic as for sound cross that bridge when you get there
 
oh i was reading some thing on that. that the sea of green or some thing? well there is soo much room would be a lot of wasted space wouldn't it? unless made second compartment about half way and do X 2 hehe? or would that just stink to much for a small scrubber?
 
well maybe i should build a middle shelf and have it all on top half and use underneath for stuff like nuts extra storage ? cause i really need to make use of space if i can but id really like to be doing some thing productive with that extra space.. maybe i should do a mother in it for cloning?
 
you could but running a 400 will require some over head space HID have to be above the plants a bit, you can change later to whatever you like!
but a 1/2 to 3/4 pound every 2 months is good to start with, then you could move up to other more upperclass ops
 
thanks man you been a big help . but i am still slightly unclear as to why i need 3 holes one for incoming air one for out coming air but whats the 3rd one for ? is it have somthing to do with the scrubber? what did you mean by passive intake?
 
#1 hole is 4in. Coming in supplying frest air passivly but with a temp control switch so if temps hit a above the limit high
It turns on to cool the room.

#2 goes scrubber through the vented shield up to the #2 hole and right above that hol ie the 4in fan

Sorry there is no 3rd hole was a brain fart
 
K cool think i am fully understanding this now thanks ill see if i can jell all this and maybe post a pic or some thing with my layout .
 
well finely here is my set up only thing is the fan is kinda noisy so i got a flood table set up down the hall growing tomato's to drowned out the fan sound.

hope i did every thing right here soaked the coco core for maybe 20 mins in water. do not have anything fine tune to ph with. ph water was yellowish orange prolly a bit low but i hope its not to big a boo boo.

the guy i got clones from told me it was plain water this weak after i had all ready soaked the coco core but when i soaked the coco core i had added some maxigro man i hope there not runing way to hot :-(

using 400 hid light
using cargo straps for holding up the light in this 2X4 tent
using bungy cords for holding my scrubber up top

my temps look ok i think 70 ok? but when time comes to change light times the light wont be making heat and the addict is a cold sealing so a lot of cold comes in cools room to like 55 not sure what im going to do when i cross this bridge.

The humidity is around 37 not sure if this is good or bad any one got some tips on what to try and keep this at?
