Too hot in the room?

I have a 400W MH light in a 5x5x8 closet, with a ceiling vent and 2 circulation fans. and yet I cannot get the temperature of the room below 85 degrees. Will this harm the plants? (I do see edge browning). But they have grown a substantial amount since I put them from cfl's to mh.

you have a vent for exhaust, but why don't you try bringing fresh air in? even from outside the closet is gonna be cooler because of no lamp creating heat.

85 is the top end of the spectrum for temp but i think 90 degrees is the tipping point. with those temps they'll thrive with added co2 though.

85°F is a bit too high. You really should work to get it under 80° because growth slows down at 82° and continues slowing as the temp goes up. You should try to install a small intake fan on your closet door. The fresh air will also boost CO2 levels which your plants will appreciate.

Regarding the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" line... well I just hate that. If your car was driving towards a brick wall, would you reason that, since the car was running fine you should continue until the brick wall destroyed it?
