Too late to clone outdoors?

If I top some of the Sativa girls to make clones now that they're showing their sex, will I have fewer buds, or will the moms recover sufficiently?

What about the Indica that's already flowering?

nooooo don't top your plants once they start even pre-flower.... don't do it!!. If you need to take clones, take cuts off the bottom it has more root hormone the closer to the roots you get the cut from anyway.

it may make them bushier..
it may recover if done correctly.
it may give you less buds.

I have cut them before and tossed into a mason jar with water and they have grown roots.

Yeah I agree too, I think if you cut them from the bottom you should be all right, especially if you use those popcorn branches that are just wasting precious cola energy anyway. Yeah I say go for it IMO, I'll bet they'll root fine outside this time of year. It's starting to cool off slightly so you should be good if you just mist them once a day or every other day for a week or so. Provided you are using a humidity dome and Jiffy pellets/ rockwool.
