i topped one of my plants at the 9th node on sunday, should the plants growth be stunted? or in other words, would it go thru some shock?

oh shiit... i didnt know there was a node limit! i topped mine at i think 7th maybe 8th node like 9 days ago and the new stems are about an inch and a half tall. i dont know if that means they did slow down or if they will but its looking good right now...

well yea i mean none of the healthly leaves died but this one was already yellow and i was going to pull it out anyways but i found it all crinkled up!

i checked on my plant right now and its recovered from the droopiness, but is this normal how i topped my plant? i followed this from the faq:

I say that it isnt because the plant is so small. But It isnt going to kill it. (I would hope not anyways).

I usually dont top or fim anything under 5 nodes tall. I usually wait till the plant starts its first side branch @ any node on its own. Then Ill top it to make it bushy.:hump:

Once you "Top" give it a few weeks before you see new growth. Once it starts it will take off:-) Be patient and don't fret.

That looks fine to me, it will slow the process for about a week or so but once the 2 stems start growing the process will pick back up to normal or at least thats the way it worked for me last year...

The only part of the plant that should grow slower or show signs of less growth is the top node where you topped at...other than that your plants should start getting bushier below the node your topped. :blsmoke:

ok i know this is a stupid question but what do you guys mean my a node? a set of leaves? or what the arrow is pointing to on the pic above?

is fiming also a good way to keep plants short because im hiding it in a bush?
what happens if i trim the leaves and just cut off the tip, will it slow down the the plant growing tall because it is getting HUGE!

define huge:hump: like 3 feet is big, 4, yeaaah, 5, shhhhhh, anything else is huge to me, have you tried tying the plant down with some garden wire, or some fishing line? you can get the plant to grow in S shaped bends, i have stems from my last grow indoors and i tied the plant to the sides, the main stalk has an L and a S shape to it! you can train the plant to be low profile, if you dont want it to grow tall, chop the head off it and make it into a bush instead of a tree!

cons?: it stunts growth for a period of time :\ and some say its killing your payload bud (main cola)
