Topping a second time

I normally only top my plants once. I have one of my plants in a 5 gallon pot. I have topped it at the six node but wanted to top it again and was just wondering if there is a certain amount of growth or how do I know where to take my cuts at to create more colas? Or do i just remove the growth tip?

You can create more colas wherever you want. Pics would help though.

I always give them 4 to 6 nodes before I top again. You can top as many times as you like, but give them time between toppings.
