topping and fimming not working?

so im workin on my first grow now, and theyre goin on about 4 weeks. got about 12 plants that i just put into flowering. i topped one, fimmed one, and am LSTing another. the LST one is doing great, and so are the ones that i topped/fimmed. only problem is that neither of them greated new main stalks, they both just regenerated the trunk so to speak. anyone know whats up with that?

It's possible you did not FIM deep enough. I have done this myself a few times.

how long has it been since you pruned them?

i cut them probably about 2 weeks ago, and i thought i might not have cut deep enough, which would explain the one i fimmed, but still, the one i topped i definitely cut the main stalk off

Topped plants don't grow new stems, the stems below the topped part just grow bigger.

right they are bigger but now its just growing like i never even cut it
