Topping Question

If you top the plant, it will split into two new shoots. If you cut those as well, will it make 4 shoots instead?

Usually you get 2 branches for each one you top. If you learn to FIM properly you can reasonably expect 3-4 main colas from
the one cut. I like the FIM method better because it makes the plant bushier and "takes" quicker than 2 different cuts. If you do
the 2 cut method you should leave at least a week between cuttings.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Is there a Fim thread? Perhaps a sticky? I've only been on here a couple days. I read about fimming, and don't really have the concept yet. I know someone tried a top, and missed, hence the name, F*** I Missed.

Fim'ing is easy... when you look down at the top of your plant you will see a grow shoot and two little branch buds next to it, sometimes you need to sperate the already grown leaves. Instead of cutting off the newest grow shoot completely, you want to cut off 50-75% of it... when it recovers you should have the two branch buds come up strong along with the recovered grow shoot.
Does that make any sense? I know, pictures would help, sorry.

Ths is a top job gone right!!!!!you want to top on the 3rd node, 2 new tops will form, then top those 2 tops, 4 new tops will form, this is the awesome effect of topping twice, 21 tops, and 19 tops, 4 colas eachView attachment 2562081View attachment 2562083View attachment 2562084View attachment 2562085View attachment 2562086View attachment 2562087View attachment 2562088
