:blsmoke: i transplanted my little plant with about 4 small leaves in to it's full time 8 inch pot. Was just wondering if this will have any affect on my plant's potency or size :?:

It is best to transplant when a plant is about to outgrow its current pot, but it will be ok as long as you aren't overzealous and water to much. The problem with a little plant in a large pot is that the soil around the roots will not dry qiuck enough and overwatering and root rot can happen.

Let the plant get all the way dry before watering/feeding. This is vital for the plants health because overwatering is a very common problem.

Experiance I guess. You can tell when a plant has outgrow its container. It depends on how big the starting pot is. If you lift the root ball out and it stays together and the roots can be seen wrapping around the inside of the pot. Not so much that it is root bound though. If you see masses of tangled roots you have waited to long.

You will be suprised how big a plant can get in a small container before getting root bound. Trial and error is the best teacher.
