You can do that but then again your roots will keep streaching looking for water which in turn slow growth i did try that technique lolYou can plant in a big pot and just water a small area around the seedling then increase the watering as the plant grows.

I always recommend at least potting up 3 times
Im growing from seed in smart pots of 7 liters . Im now wondering if i should have used jiffys and after that a small plastic water cup and then final pot ? is this recommended or in smart pots i can put the seed in the final pot . if so why . thank you
I think they are talking about Autos. Apparently you must plant that type in the final pot.
It's not slow growth, it's that it spends more time up front developing a root structure. After that's complete, it'll grow like crazy.
