Transplanting from 5gal to 15gal too big of jump?

I plan to flip lights in 10-14 days and want to transplant.
They're in 5gal pots now. Will 15gal pots be too big?

How big are the plants now? Are they the ones you posted in your journal on Thursday?

5gal should be plenty. I grow bigger plants than those in 4gal and they aren't rootbound when I check the rootballs after harvest.

Unless you plan to grow trees to rival outdoor plants 15gal is overkill big time.

How come you don't have this question in your journal to keep it all in the same place?

Are they already 5 ft tall? 5 gallon will be all most people need if you are growing indoors since you can't grow trees inside with the low ceilings.

Starting a seed in a large pot will send the tap toot down to the bottom where a lot of the roots will grow leaving the upper portion of the pot almost devoid of roots. I saw off the bottom inch or so when I go from seedling cup and at each re-potting so the whole root ball is a mass of fine root hairs with no roots run around the bottom or sides of the pots. Roots branch out when the ends get chopped or air pruned like they do in smart pots or fabric grow bags so you should be ok using those.

Still, 5gal pots are big enough for indoor.
