Transplanting/Potting up??? When and how best to do so...

Well this is my first grow and im rather excited to see how everything turns out. I started about a month ago actually but why not start a blog now. I got a nice little grow set up goin. Its about 2.5 feet wide 1.5 foot deep and about 6 foot tall, it divided in to two sections (about 2 foot and 4 foot). I have one 96 watt 10000 lumen T5 cfl light on top for new guys and veg and 150 watt HPS on the bottom also for veg right now but going to add some more cfl to the mix soon. Ive got about 13 plants goin right now, all in various stages but most of em sprouted about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Ive got them stared out in 4" pots and will soon be looking to pot up. Thats where you come in... I have a few questions about transplanting and nute's... Im gonna get a camera soon and put some photos up so i can compare notes with a few of you.

Question Time #1
When is the best time to transplant/pot up? How many time should you pot up? I would imagine fewer is better...?

When should i start giving my babies nutrients?

Thanks for the input. Now time for a break...

transplant when the roots start coming out the bottom, fewer is not better, less chance of water logging the soil, you can feed now.

wot he said above and a good tip is use the same size pot as the one your plant is in now to make the hole in the soil of your bigger pot, so it fits perfect.
sink your plant in the new soil as much as ye can,
soil up to where the seed cap leaves were (very first baby round leafs) or still are..
good luck dude

First, Thanks for the info...!

So your sayin I should wait till i see roots comin out the bottom of the pot...? (there in 4" pots now and want to move them to 2 gallon... but ive got 1 gallon pots as well)

Let me see about getting a camera, pic=1,000 words.... Also I just soaked my plants yesterday in preparation for a transplant today. Soil should be moist not wet right? oh and i like the idea of putting the little pot into the bigger one....

Shootz guys!

Shootz man! solid advice... Thats what i had in mind but always good for a 2nd opinion. Ima put my babies into 2 gallon pots and let em go wild.
