Well I decided to throw this up for anyone that might be interested. Im new myself so take any information with a grain of salt.
Basically the excitement of growing my first plants I wanted something to view them up close.
My first purchase was a microscope from radioshack
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2179604
Since this item was $12 I ran to my local store and found it was in stock. After purchasing batteries for it i took it for a test run. At 60x i found it was hard to use and focus. Most people reccomend clipping a leave and putting it on a plate. I did not do this. Once i did get it focused what i seen was amazing. I then tried 100x took 30 mins to get the thing focused. I noticed you have to hold this item very still slight movement and your back to square 1.
I wasnt very happy with results so Im purchasing a jewlers loupe 30x. The one i decided to purchase is http://www.indigo.com/magnify/gphmgnfy/triplet-geology-lens.html
25 dollars with shipping
After doing some research i found triplet loupes are usually the best quality for viewing and if they made with crown and bk7 glass there usually better. I also found a couple cheaper ones
http://www.utopiatools.com/-strse-619/30X-Triplet-Lens-21mm/Detail.bok 20 dollars with shipping
some regular 30x loupe not triplet
http://www.sourcingmap.com/21mm-jewellers-jewelry-loupe-magnifier-eye-magnifying-glass-p-34803.html 10 dollars with shipping
Hope this info helps anyone interested in viewing there plants up close.
Feel free to post what you use to view trichomes/ plants.
