Trimming and drying for rosin pressing complete newb

So I have an opportunity to have as much of my plant material extracted as I want through a friend of my son's. Being as I'm an old bastard and have never even seen rosin much less tried it I need help preparing my currently growing plants for the best possible results. Should I just trim and dry as normal? I usually trim anything not very frosty then bud wash and into my drying room. Thanks for any advice. The strains are Bag of Oranges by Useful Seeds which is really sticky and a Blue Dream which is average.

Dry and trim it like you normally do. Main thing you wanna make sure it has the right moisture content before the squish. Too dry and shitty yield. Too moist isn’t really good either.
Here’s a good read.
Personally i shoot for 62-65% moisture and i’m not afraid to use cut pieces of flower tortilla to get there. Oh, and i’ll make sure it’s at the right moisture while in turkey bags using small digital hygrometers but that’s because i do large runs. Glass jars will work just fine though. And don’t let the flower get old. That makes for more darker rosin and obviously not as good as a fresher nug run. You want that yellow stuff, squish it as soon as you can get it to that right moisture content.

That's great info thanks for the help. i sometimes go a little on the too dry side just to be sure there is no problem with mold in the jars during long term storage so anything I am thinking about doing with this method I will try and leave a little more spongey. I've never put much trust in those jar hygrometers since I lost an entire jar to mold that was supposed to be in range according to the gauge. Thanks again

If not those hygrometers, i’d say get the flower to where its just a little bit moister than you like to roll a joint. That’s just about perfect. Or use Bovida Packs

I use the Boveeda packs for storage regularly. I haven't seen any issues with Boveeda packs like the article was saying but my jars don't last longer than 6-9 months usually. If it's going to be longer than that it get donated to a friend in need usually. Thanks for the advice. Damper than a joint is easy to visualize and feel so that really helps. I'm sure he knows how it is supposed to be I just want to do my part as best as I can.
