on my bubba kush's i top once early on in veg and supercrop for a nice short bush, now when this is done in veg i de foliate the centers about 2-4 weeks in flower as the topping causes a mass of center leaves which makes light nearly impossible to get inside the plant, imo this is very strain/environment dependent and i would suggest running side by side comparisons for yourself to truly find out how your strain reacts to this method in "your" growing conditions (not everyone elses growing conditions). now i run 400w hps's in flower so im not up with the 600-1000w guys, so i have to take less conventional methods into mind (and believe me i do) i have tried allot of methods with my strains and i can say every strain was different, some better, some worse, some neutral. now the truth of the matter is no "one" person can come on here and tell you weather trimming is bad or good because they are not there with you and cant tell you for sure if in your conditions this would benefit you, its just something you are going to have to figure out because even if your temps, humidity, etc etc... are all in perfect order it could just break down to the grower in general and his/her capabilities, so again try it for yourself and see if it benefits you. o and another thing dont butcher your plant (remove more than 25% leaf material) that is not the right way to use this method. What are thoughts on trimming off leaves? In veg we top it 3 times, but ive heard to trim down some leaves and dont remove anything unless brown leaves that needs to come off. Just looking for thoughts from experienced hydroponic growers im torn.
