Its a good time...
Here is a website for coffeeshops, and they also have a forum - they set up a lot of meet and greets, and coffee shop crawls. Lots of locals hang out here too (and a few budtenders from popular coffee shops).

The Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory

Best bet is to have everyone in your party buy 5grams in A'dam, then hit the trains and travel holland. There is usually 1 or more coffee shops in the medium size cities (200 in A'dam itself).

Fun place, for sure...

They don't have anything on us in the US as far as weed goes. If you grow here from quality seed chances are good that you have better pot on hand right now than 90% of what is sold in the coffeeshops.

however, the variety and availability of hashish is like bein a kid growin up in the 70's (if you were lucky enough to experience such a thing). Morrocans, Afghnai black/blone/red...honey hash (stellar at Mellow Yellow and only 6 euros a gram for a 3 gram hunk)...bubble hash (expensive, make yer own here) and tons of things in between...

Most Europeans mix tobacco with their pot and smoke cones..and we judged the quality of the places we walked into by the smell of the smoke. Touristy places smelled a lot like a bar...ppaces specializing in hash like the little but FINE Twede Kramer were heaven to walk into w/ a full on HASH smell radiating out and few tobacco smokers anywhere nearby.

It amazed me that when i rolled a joint of pot and black hash (and not tobacco) and tried to pass it around very few people (Europeans) would take a hit off it!

didn't try the shrooms..but they are there as are other things herbal to make yer head spin.

have fun. it's a real trip!

good luck bt dt

Been to Amsterdam once when I was in college. The Red Light district is a must of course. The Mrs might not appreciate it but at least walk through the street. Literally, the whores sit in their windows looking out at you. And yes, there is a red light. If it's on, they are "busy" with other clients. There are live sex shows as well.

You also may want to tour Anne Frank's home. It's a big tourist attraction. Personally, it was a little boring for me but there's an awesome pub just below that will ply you with Heinekens. You should do the canal tour also. They will take you down through the cannals, which criss-cross the city. Beautiful architecture.

If you can manage it, take a bus (not very expensive) to Brussels. If memory serves correct, it's about a 4-6 hour drive and you see some beautiful country, including the windmills. La Gran Place is the place to visit in Brussels. And the Mannequin Piss - the famous statue of the little boy peeing. Make sure and sample the space-cakes for a good high. Also try the mussels in Brussels. I think that's a popular dish in Brussels.

Most importantly, don't forget to bring back some seeds!!! And mail me some, beaaaaaaatch. Please?

man I cant wait to go, me and the missus will be going there about 6mths after we're married in august 2008 and we'll be living there for about 6mths to a year depending on how I find working there, apparently my industry (IT) pay about 2000 euro's per fortnight over there (for English speakers) where as I get paid about $1000AU in Australia per fortnight.

are seeds cheaper there then to buy them via the net?
