Trump Accuses DOJ Prosecutor of Attempted Bribery
Former President Donald Trump late Wednesday, in a pair of all-caps posts to his Truth Social account, railed against the Department of Justice and accused an unnamed prosecutor of offering a "judgeship" to an attorney for a witness in the case.

The posts followed reports that federal prosecutors have sent him a letter to inform him he's the subject of an investigation into his handling of classified documents.

The news about the notification surfaced after Trump's attorneys met with DOJ officials to discuss the case, but does not necessarily mean he will face criminal charges.

"Shocking!" Trump posted in the first of the all-caps messages. "One of the top prosecutors at the department of injustice was reportedly so obsessed with 'getting Trump' that he tried to bribe & intimidate a lawyer representing someone being targeted & harassed to falsely accuse & fabricate a story about President Donald J. Trump & a crime that doesn't exist.

"This criminal & salacious act within the DOJ has brought shame & embarrassment to this once great & respected institution. Because of this, there is now extreme turmoil inside the DOJ," he added.

In the second post, Trump claimed that "a top overzealous & dishonest DOJ prosecutor offered a witness' lawyer and important 'judgeship' in the Biden administration if his client 'flips' on President Trump, who has done nothing wrong!"

"The highly respected lawyer was incensed & disgusted at this corrupt & legal offer," he continued. "The fake 'case' against me must be immediately dropped, and the inspector general should launch an investigation into this & the many other all too obvious wrongdoings & crimes taking place at the DOJ & FBI!"

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted on federal criminal charges in connection with his retention of hundreds of classified government documents he retained after leaving the White House.

Trump himself disclosed the indictment in a series of posts on his Truth Social social media site on Thursday evening. He also said he has been summoned to appear in court in Miami on Tuesday.

NBC News soon after confirmed the indictment, which is the second time in recent months that Trump has been criminally charged. He was first indicted by a New York state grand jury in March on charges of falsifying business records in connection with a hush money payment to a porn star in 2016.

Trump, who is seeking the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, is the only U.S. president, former or otherwise, ever to be criminally charged.

“I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

“I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America,” he wrote.

Trump has been the focus of a federal criminal investigation since last year over his stonewalling of requests to return government records, including classified documents, after ending his term as president. By law, such records must be returned when a president leaves office.

Trump’s home at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, was raised last August by FBI agents searching for records they believed would be located there.

Agents found hundreds of documents marked classified.

Trumo in his social media posts wrote: “The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 Boxes at the University of Delaware, additional Boxes in Chinatown, D.C., with even more Boxes at the University of Pennsylvania, and documents strewn all over his garage floor where he parks his Corvette, and which is “secured” by only a garage door that is paper thin, and open much of the time.”

“I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM,” Trump wrote. “We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!”

To quote the grate man himself,

“The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax,"
It's not how you make bail in this kind of case! I think there will be other DC charges involving Trump over the documents and obstruction. I wonder who else is going down with him too? Everybody else gets locked up for espionage and doesn't usually make bail if the prosecutor opposes it.

Right in Meatball Ron's backyard too! He wants Donald out of the way to have a shot at the brass ring and he will have Trump's trial right in his own state! Think Ron is gonna be asked about it? Think all the republican candidates will be?

MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin discusses why Donald Trump was indicted in Florida, instead of Washington D.C. as was expected. "The department of justice policy generally holds that you charge a crime where the bulk of the conduct occurs," Rubin explains. "We don't know a lot about when this shift happened."
