Trust this cheap pH Meter?

I suffered through this problen. When you add some nuts they are brown and discolors the water. I broke down and bought a ph meter about 45$. and it works like a charm and I feel bood after taking the PH and know I am accurate.

I'm not entirely sure, but I'm in the market for one and as long as it gives me a near accurate figure and I don't have to use the liquid pH testers then it's all good for me.

Fashion enthusiasts won't like this one, it really looks more like a highlighter than a pH tester ;-)

My experience with PH meters like this is calibrate them OFTEN. Buy two types of calibration solution, 4 & 7. Calibrate it for both at least once a week and more likely twice a week. I got lazy with my cheap one and didnt calibrate it for a couple weeks and my PH was in the low 4's but showed in the low sixes. I started to calibrate it every 3 or 4 days after that.

Whatever works til you can afford something better, I say.

You can use the cheaper meters. But get atleast the 7.0 buffer for testing. Most meters use 2 point calibration. 4 and 7. But as a quick check 7.0 will make sure you arn't kill your ladies.
 
My experience with the cheap PH meters is that the only one I ever bought didn't work at all. In fact it was listed on ebay as new and it wasn't. I'm not saying you can't use one and have success but I really believe you get what you pay for on PH meters. By the way my cheap ppm meter has always worked like a charm.
 
I own that meter. If you keep it calibrated it works realy great. Its growing the most dank bud Ive ever grown. (so far)
 
i got a milwaukee-SUCKS...i had to calibrate it before every use, and still distrusted it so much that i went back to ph drops. before i start my next grow i plan on getting a quality hanna. honestly i don't think i've heard anyone trash talk hannas...
 
Ive been useing that meter for 2 months now. didn't like it at all first time the top part got wet it stopped working. Went out and bought a hanna one with everything in it never been happier.
