turbo branching, good or bad?

okay so i'm growing a couple of plants and so far the white widow and bubblelicious are both flourishing. the white widow seems to be growing beautifully, with evenly spaced branching, nice strong healthy-looking stems and leaves. the bubblelicious, on the other hand, seems to be branching like crazy. as in, both plants are 2 weeks old, but the bubblelicious has almost a whole bush of small leaves and leaflets, with a few big fans, while the WW has a few big healthy ones with a few medium sized ones and a few small ones, all nicely evenly spaced. i know leaves are good, i'm just curious if there is a reason other than genetics as to why it's branching so much for the bubblelicious?

oh some backgro0und: i'm growing inside a modified TV cabinet, enclosed space with mylar on all sides of enclosed space. currently plants are vegging under a 5000K 105W CFL lamp, as soon as it reaches decent height i will install a 50W LED UFO.

another thing: i have seedlings which sprout roots which are oddly thick and green in color. is that normal? my WW also seemed to have 'grown' one of those thick green roots, it didn't used to have it while it was growing roots.

lastly, how bad does it hurt the plants to trim the roots? i think some of the roots are intertwined
