Has anyone before tied over the tops of plants in order to try to get the plants to become less taller and more of a 'bushier' style rounded plant? What kind of effects were received?

I understand, but just to make sure a node = branch that is growing off the main trunk counting from the bottom up, correct?

when u tie down the top of the plant the "budding hormone" redirects to the tallest part of the plant so if you tie the main stem horizontal every node will produce a main or equal to the last bud i tried this once with okay results but i like sog a lot better

sog look it up theres a million threads about it.. but its basically having a bunch of small plants instead of a few huge plants, its alittle more complicated than that but thats the idea.

Sure I understand and wouldn't have it any other way. I was just wonder whether people in general have had better results from SOG or SROG? What are the opinions out there?
