under the plant lights

ive got a 1000hps over the top of 15 plants in a 5x5 room. My question is would laying a dual t5 set in between the buckets help with the under side growth? The plants are thick where theres not much light geting through the top layer as it is, I'll start to flower in a few days when they reach 18", about 16 now.:weed:my goal is the biggest dense bud i can get.( weird like every one doesnt want that):joint:

Plant's can use light more efficiently if the light is hitting the tops of the leaves. I can attest that you will get lusher growth on the bottom of the plant by placing t5s under it, but it is not the best use of light.

I would just hang some 42 CFL's around the lower part of the plant, as mentioned above, you want to hit the tops of the leaves..

the only flaw with my setup is there are walls on three sides and space is getting hard to come by

Your 1000w is already the most effective way to penetrate into the canopy.
Some of the light actually blows right through the top leaves and gets to the lower leaves.

The most effective use of T5s with your system, IMO, would be simply installing 4' strip lights around the perimeter to make up for shadows.

This may allow you to drop your light and gain penetration, while the t5s make up for the lost footprint.

You could also run strip lights between the plants, but keep them very close to the bottom of the canopy. If they touch, they will burn.

Also realize that this is going to contribute to additional heat in the room.

areo-- i think if i put them around the perimater they would also touch, unless i placed them at the very bottom of the plant like ground level. then it would be the same as having them on the floor between row's. WTF maybe I'll just leave it alone and see how it goes, make changes next time if need be
