unknowing...

i think it would be sweet if it was a rule, that you had to say "maybe" after everything
that isn't 100% true, or proven.

god exists -maybe
there is a collective consciousness -maybe
we have souls -maybe
existence is just a computer generated hologram -maybe
are just a few examples.

to understand that everything metaphysical is just a maybe, that is what im trying to
explain.

everyone just loves to pick one and stick with it, why not accept that anything is possible
instead of just one way? its so much better that way.but it cant be that way, because the fear of the unknown creeps up.. makes you want to pick one, that way you can tell yourself you know whats going on in the universe, how things are happening, how things are going to happen, and even to the extent of knowing what happens when you die.

you cannot control fear, but you can decide what to do with it, you can decide to deal with it and try to understand it. or you can hide behind your self created reality, and give yourself false truths... give yourself the comforts of knowledge where in fact there is a lack of knowledge, it is replaced with ignorance.

and ignorance is truly bliss, but when you wake up... you can never go back to sleep.

I think instead of everyone having to qualify their statements with 'maybe', we should all just understand that there are no absolutes when it comes to understanding the fabric of reality. It is after all a condition that should be obvious. But if we did make the 'maybe' rule, I think we should also make the rule that you have to justify your maybe with some sort of reasoning.

I agree with heis, no maybe there but where to draw the line. 1+1=2 maybe?
may bad forgot this part.

I like the idea of using the word asshole instead of maybe, this too works on the end of any statement... Try it!

Nice thread asshole!

It's my philosophy that you are not an asshole maybe.
It's my philosophy that you are not an asshole asshole.

That's what I was trying to show. What part of the second sentence is true?

You end the second sentence repeating the same word, if the sentence already ends in asshole then no need to add it again...

I think the maybe rule might be a good exercise in training your brain to be open minded about everything.

Your right! I just realized how I seen asshole as a negative instead of just a word.

No offense taken asshole!
